how Bich came to be

Fairytale....

...once upon a time, somewhere between the waters of the Mediterraean, glories of the Western Europe and the history of the East in the muddy, passionate, mysterious Balkans, little baby JZ was born (nah, the parents didn't name her JZ, they named her Jasmina, like the flower...). A child of love, brought into families with different traditions, religions and customs she was meant to be, well, a bit eccentric. As a child she used to run out in the rain in hope she would be struck by the lightening and turn into a superhero who would save the world. Starting in Belgrade, she moved around the Balkans with her parents and found herself in Tuzla when the war in the Balkans started. There she started acting and was in several professional, semi-professional and amateur shows. Her 1st memorable acting experience was in Ionesco's Jacques, or the Submission. She worked with DRAFT Teatar touring small towns and villages in the enflamed Bosnia. She worked at the National Theatre in Tuzla before she packed her bags and left for Zagreb, broken hearted and stubbornly determined to not allow the stench of death and hatred to consume her. In Zagreb she took acting classes at Bagatella Theatre and roamed the city mindlessly. After a while she decided to move on. The INS told her she wasn't pathetic enough to become a refugee so she came to the USA as a student. She lived in Washington State for a while. Picked up her theatre degree, acted, directed, wrote and produced shows. Once she felt she got from Wa what she could she packed her bags and boarded an Amtrak train. The train brought her to Long Island where she received her MFA in Dramaturgy after which she moved to New York City which s/he now considers home.

Burlesque...

While on Long Island, JZ met the master gender bender Alligator Boy who threw her in the waters of performance art. The two of them have worked together on several videos and shows but sadly Alligator Boy was savagely pulled out of JZ's arms by the BCIS and shipped off to the UK. JZ felt sad and lonely once her comrade was gone and restarted her solo career. Before moving to the city JZ saw a VaVaVoom Room show where she saw Tigger, Dirty Martini and many others who inspired her and she started blending burlesque with her work. While producing her NYC baby The World May be Ending but at Least the Sex is Good at WOW Cafe Theatre, JZ met Danni, Heather and Lissy Kilman and the four of them joined by video goddess Ileana Marin a.k.a. Anti Social a few months later worked for a while as the Barbarians. JZ produced a benefit for the New York Gay and Lesbian Anti Violence Project as a part of the Gender Offenders stand against the violence endeavors, Spring Fest - WOW anniversary celebration with Sandra Leone and Hanifa Walidah, and Lust Fest, a series of cabarets and plays.

Currently JZ is a co-producer with Agent N of HyperGender anti-Burlesque Show at WOW Cafe Theatre.

As a performance artist/burlesque performer JZ has shaken her fat ass on many different stages... Joe's Pub, HERE, Budoir Bar, Slipper Room, Rififi's, Kitty Nights, Cabaret Magique, Galapagos, Meow Mix, Cattyshack, Starlight, Snapshot, Lucky Cheng's, Bar on A, etc ... and in many cities... NYC, Boston, Belgrade, Tuzla, Zagreb ...

Currently, JZ can be found in various night spots in NYC.
